I would also really like to see a deep dive into this company, which seems very interesting to me given the contrarian investment philosophy of its shareholders.
For Garrett Motion, if they're reducing debt, then isn't the underlying business good?
I understand there is a threat to turbo chargers from electric vehicles. They sell turbo charger to hybrid manufacturers, which will be around for a while. They are working on some sort of hardware to sell electric vehicle manufacturers, though that's R&D and not proven. They do have contracts for this though. In the turbo charger field for internal combustion engines, I'm seeing just one serious competitor for this highly engineered piece of hardware.
They're on the magicformula list which is a good starting point.
Unfortunately, due to the taxes applied in the European Union on LPs, it is impossible to invest in companies structured in this way. I launch the challenge of analyzing a small company: UNTC (UNIT CORP). At first glance it seems very cheap to me, but I would like your opinion.
The structure of some of these companies is unfortunate for non-us investors, we agree. As far as UNTC, besides cursory glances when it has popped up on The Magic Formula, we haven’t dug into it. You’ll be one of the first to know if we do!
Nice write up. What do you think of HKHC?

Thanks for the encouragement in that direction, Antonio!
Thanks Dave. We haven’t dug into the specifics if HKHC yet.
what do you mean for garrett to become available to more institutionals? is it general discovery or something specific?
Some institutions are not allowed to invest in companies with junk level debt.
Good stuff ... what do you make of Horizon Kinetic's own IPO?
Thanks, Tony. We haven’t dug into the specifics of HKHC yet.
thanks for the update,
Sure thing!

Thanks, Adam! We agree that GTX could likely prove a good investment…we like it…just not currently as much as we like other companies.

Great piece - totally share the confusion as to how Murray Stahl isn't a household name (yet).
Thanks man!
